Cannibalistic emerged in December 2020, igniting a powerful new force in the Christian metal scene. The vision began with lead guitarist and founder Alex Garza, who had previously collaborated with vocalist Fred Garcia of Becoming Sons. While crafting new material, Alex reached out to Fred, who immediately brought his signature vocal intensity and passion to the project.

As their creative chemistry intensified, the duo pushed the sound toward something heavier and more uncompromising, officially forming Cannibalistic as a Christian metal band. The name, originally conceived by Alex, gained profound spiritual depth when Fred linked it to John 6:53: “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.”

To complete the lineup, Alex reconnected with former bandmate Jerry Dee Ryan (from Becoming Sons and Saving Jackie) after seeing his classified ad and brought him in without hesitation. Around the same time, bassist Joshua Sanchez of Hawaii’s death metal band Gorgos reached out to Fred and joined the group seamlessly, no audition required.

The final piece locked into place when Alex recruited drummer Gary Holdsworth from Behold Triumph. What started with some initial doubts quickly turned into a perfect fit, solidifying Cannibalistic’s crushing rhythm section and signature dual-guitar attack.
